Bio
I grew up in Johnstown, PA, a small
city in South-Western Pennsylvania built on the backs of hard-working steel millers and coal miners of days gone by. There, I learned the value of hard work and expertise, no matter what you choose to do for work. My parents are from Detroit, embuing a sense of the importance of music in society beyond the limits of finance and politics.
I attained my Bachelor's degree in music specializing in vocal performance from the world-famous Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, my Master's in Opera Performance from the prestigious Moores School of Music of the University of Houston, TX and a Post-Graduate Diploma from the protigious and prolific San Francisco Conservatory of Music. My teachers were "Doc" Robert McIver, Joseph Evans and Cesar Ulloa. Along the way, I studied music theory, ethnomusicology, electronic music, acoustics, and music composition.
As a singer, I've been lucky to have performed outstanding roles with outstanding companies all over the world, including the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, the Music Academy of the West, The International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Among my many roles include "Fiiiiiigaro" in The Barber of Seville, the Count Almaviva in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, the lascivous Don of Don Giovanni, the murderous barber Sweeney Todd, and the flirtatious Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte.

With my significant dramatic training, I have developed a reputation as an "acting singer" with reviews noting my internalization of the text to strong dramatic effect. I am frequently tapped for spoken roles in sung works, due to my connections with both.
After studying with world-class composers like Mason Bates, I cut my teeth as a composer doing a capella arrangements for vocal production companies with whom I also sang, and have been associated with the outstanding Chris Wade Music Productions, a coast to coast vocal production company famous for their work for Disney films and concert halls alike, for year upon year. My compositions continue to grow larger in audiences and renown. My central philosophy is that new music is a product of a combination of influences. My goal is not to become a new Mozart, but to bring to life ideas that are already in the zeitgeist.

My visual art style is centered around the explorations of mathematics, sacred geometry, and the interaction of colors and light. Stay tuned for more news about my 70-minute chamber dance show, Fractals in D Major, for which I have composed the music and developed an unique technique for generating fractal effects with analog technologies. My paintings and "flat sculptures" are, regrettably, not currently for sale.

I llike to sing in other styles, as well, from Monteverdi to The Beach Boys to Led Zeppelin. Inquire for more details.
